Hi again it's Joy. 

 

Actually it's Deborah Joy Leadingham-Baskall but that wouldn't fit on the heading. Thank-you for looking at my site. As you see, I am not a professional painter. It's just me here. Some of my work has flaws but to me, its just my way of painting through the learning process of humility.

I have spent years in Florida, catching sunsets and beauty behind the lens. I found myself in New England and the rush of the Atlantic, its rocky shores and seasons drew me in. I never knew what I was looking for yet that certain image simply showed itself to me and I was lucky enough to capture it. Now I am back in the sunny state enjoying the sun, beach and the aqua seas.

Why I began to paint is truly a mystery. From somewhere out in the universe it crept into my soul and it urged me on. It was more a yearning from within then. It just drew me inside it without knowing how to begin and I arrived here. I love taking photographs and using mixed media to create beautiful work. All of it is original. The shots behind the lens are real. My paintings are my own. The mixed media within the gallery are combined works of my photos and my paintings.

A long time ago, my life changed by the miraculously hands of God, a spiritual resurrection. Since then my journey has become being one with my life instead of simply living it. I am living a 3-D experience. I see colors and dimensions in ways I cannot explain yet they are visible in my mind. I see the definition of humanity and the depths of empathy so I paint from within those miracles in my life. I could ever explain to you or myself how they come about yet I see the world and its beauty in a different light. I try to express these colors through-out my gallery
