Just came back from a southbound cruise on the Coral Princess with my sis Cris and the dream of a lifetime came true. It was by far the most beautiful place I have ever been to. I wanted to go back before I even left. It was amazing with its wildlife, gorgeous waters and glaciers that colored the water and the skies with their aqua blue shades of beauty. The most pristine and fresh air filled my chest with its peace and tranquility.
Indeed, I certainly did take a zillion photographs in every port. We started in Southwest Florida, to Atlanta and landed in Anchorage, Alaska and made our way through this charming city with never-ending flowers hanging on corners, to where bears and moose walk freely downtown. By bus then onto an amazing tour just out of the city to a wildlife refuge. My heart raced the whole time and the animals were Real! Not just photographs in a book but on all fours. So many grizzly bears, brown bears, wolves, bison, deer, bald eagles and caribou. The scenery alone was enough to take your breath away. The sky was filled with low-hanging clouds over the mountainside and a chilly nip to the air but around every corner was a majestic sight that I will never forget the rest of my life.
We made our way to Whittier, Alaska after driving through the inside of a mountain, to our starting port. It was my first cruise ever and I shared it with my sister. She made it even more surreal. A sisters cruise as we sailed out to sea. We traveled from Whittier down to Skagway where we took two excursions. A bus ride into the wilderness up through, Canada, British Columbia and into the Yukon. We followed it right back down on a train out of White Pass and the Yukon Route along the mountain-side. Every spot was breathless, filled with tall, rich-colored pines, simply beautiful and the waters were endless colors of turquoise.
Look in next time on the blog as my trip to Beautiful Alaska continues...
Love Joy,
